The Missoula Farmers’ Market has been around since 1972. This year they are back, bigger than ever, for their 54th season. Each year the local market brings in hundreds of vendors filling the streets from the downtown XXXXs sculpture on the North End of Higgins Avenue all the way down to Caras Park in the heart of Downtown Missoula.
Saturday Markets began on May 2 and will continue weekly from 8:00am to 12:30am through the month of October. This spring they also brought in Tuesday markets which began June 2 and will continue through September weekly from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
These markets offer everything from local produce to baked goods to flowers to handmade items to delicious foods for every meal. Customers also get to enjoy their shopping while listening to their favorite local Missoula artists which play at every downtown event. A list of the 2026 music lineup for Saturday markets can be found on the Missoula Farmers’ Market’s official website.
Though popularity depends on the weather conditions, the past few sunny weekends have been pretty busy. Definitely expect to spend some time waiting in lines and shuffling through crowds. The busiest times are closer to closing time, probably from 11 to 12:30pm.
The location is beautiful as well. After shopping, customers typically spend some time enjoying the views. The Caras Park vendors are located right next to the Clark Fork River providing a gorgeous scenic view and walking trail along the river’s edge where you can typically find a crowd watching local surfers ride Missoula’s famous Brennan’s Wave.
If you are looking for something fun to do with friends and family this spring and summer season, then the Missoula Farmers’ Market is the perfect way to support local farmers, makers, and small businesses and spend the best day in some of the most gorgeous areas of Missoula, Montana.
