The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center of the University of Montana is hosting an educational trip to Taiwan in the spring of 2025. This trip is meant to expand global focuses and cultural appreciation. Oh, and did I mention that this trip is fully funded?
The Mansfield Center has partnered with Shih Chien University in Taiwan to make this educational trip happen. Shih Chien University has an artistic environment and offers various learning opportunities for international students.
Taiwan’s culture is fast growing, Shih Chien University provides unique courses like Food and Beverage Management and Development of Architecture. This trip will close the gap between Missoula, Montana and Taipei Taiwan by having eight students bring back knowledge about culture, language, and political systems.
This trip is a mixture of not only class time but also exploration of the island. The trip being fully funded means that meals are paid for, and no worries about lodging prices and transportation. This trip is offered to students of all kinds, but those who participate in Model UN will have a better and higher chance of acceptance.
The applications for the trip have been released and students have until Dec. 8 to fill it out if interested. The application consists of questions regarding what you would do with your knowledge of Taiwan upon return and how you act under quick changing situations.
The culture of Taiwan is diverse and vibrant, this trip is a wonderful opportunity for any students who see themselves with an international future. Whether you’re interested in journalism, the medical field, history, or the arts this trip would provide a head start for your future.
