In April president Joe Biden announced that the Youth Climate Corps will be going into action. This means that high school students and college students will be able to make money and help fight climate change at the same time. If you go to the White House’s website there are already hundred of jobs available that you can apply for right now. Some of the jobs require more physical work whereas others do not, so you can find the job that suits you best.
Biden’s goal is to have 20,000 people working in the first year and 200,000 workers in the first five years. The jobs are available in 36 different states, including Puerto Rico and Washington D.C.
Most of the jobs pay from 12.50 to 23 dollars an hour as they are government jobs.
Some of the jobs include: Becoming a botany technician in Nevada, joining a tail crew in Mexico, working as a conservation fellow in Mexico, installing solar panels in Texas, and educating kids about gardening in California. These jobs have a variety of difficulties so everybody can feel like they have a spot in helping the world.
I believe that this program could have the power to help save our planet from the path of climate change that it is going down right now.
If this is something that anybody is interested in I strongly urge you to go check it out because it could really help make a change.
