After the raging success of the first Loki season many fans were demanding a new season to resolve the cliffhanger of an ending they were left with, Marvel and Disney+ made sure to not disappoint. The new season of the Sci/Fi Marvel show was an amazing kick-off for the new and developing era of Marvel.
With the loss of most, if not all of the original Marvel cast members, fans have been left skeptical if the new era of Marvel can compare to the original. The launch of Loki being one of the kickoffs has reassured many fans about the development of new Marvel movies and shows.
The first new episode was released on Oct. 5 and the fans were given a new episode every Thursday until Nov. 9 when the season finale was aired. The premiere had 10.9 million views in three days while the finale had an astonishing 11.2 million views in its first three days of being aired. This season is six 50-minute episodes full of exploration, dimension discovery, and time travel. Throughout this season viewers get to explore the idea of timelines changing and, in a way, the development of the world we know. It’s a very interesting take on such a diverse and versatile topic.
The show has an incredible cast consisting of returning characters: Loki played by Tom Hiddleston; Owen Wilson as Mobius; Spohia Di Martino as Sylvie as well as many more both new and returning.
Though Loki was the villain of several previous Marvel movies, he has very quickly become a fan favorite morally gray character as the new series has become his redemption for all his past actions. Proving that people who do bad things aren’t inherently bad and people can grow, even some of the worst villains can become the heroes of a story.
Through the last few episodes of season one fans were teased with the beginning of Loki and Sylvie’s complicated relationship, quickly followed by the betrayal of Sylvie’s decision breaking the hearts of many romantics. The relationship between the two confuses, conflicts, and piques the interest of many. After all, the truest showing of love is the acceptance of one’s characteristics and flaws.
The bromance of Loki and Mobius quickly followed Loki and Sylvies’ relationship as a fan favorite and is only continued throughout the new season.
Though yet again fans were left with a tantalizing cliffhanger at the end of the season, this one opens the door for more of the Marvel Universe, leaving everyone anticipating the new Marvel and all the characters, stories, and connections.
