The Southgate Mall in recent years created a newer alternative tradition regarding trick-or-treating, and this year certainly did not disappoint. Countless Missoula families assembled in the local mall for the annual Candy Crawl this Halloween, all to enjoy the friendly Missoula atmosphere in a warm mall.
Every store in the mall posts a few of their associates to hand out candy to little kiddos meandering around. The Candy Crawl is welcoming to people of all ages as well as any of their furry friends. You are never too old to enjoy the Missoula community with friends and family.
Many of the stores in the mall went all out, either dressing head to toe in extravagant costumes like Bath and Body Works or creating a full Halloween treat buffet like Scheels.
With the weather getting progressively colder as the years drag on, a trick-or-treat frenzy is the perfect way to keep the tradition alive and fun for kiddos and their parents. Though the first few years of the Candy Crawl were significantly under-advertised, in the last two years it has become a very popular tradition and a way for the people of Missoula as well as the workers of the mall to have fun and relaxing Halloween night while still working.
The Candy Crawl will hopefully continue to grow in popularity and continue to become another classic Missoula tradition that locals can anticipate during the year.
